Growing up, as a young girl in the Dominican Republic, Disla witnessed how much the women in her family cared for their jewelry. Her passion for jewelry sparked when she’d search her Godmother’s jewelry box, wearing her Ruby ring every day.

As an immigrant, Disla arrived in the United States in the early 1990s, with hopes and dreams to bring to reality.

Years later, Disla launched The JD Gift Shop with the intention of creating a quality-driven shopping experience for classic, timeless, modern easily wearable pieces of jewelry that can be passed down to future generations. The journey has been full of hard work and perseverance, learning and improving over the years. Her goal is to provide forever jewelry to individuals who cherish the beauty of meaningful, lasting pieces that hold both sentimental value and timeless elegance, creating memories that can be passed down through generations.
